Plastics

Plastics

We offer plastics in acrylics (plexiglass) and polycarbonates (Lexan). These plastics can be colored, cut, drilled, and formed. Acrylics are ideal for single pane windows, showcases, and outdoor signs.

We stock most of the plastics in 48″ x 96″ sheets. Some thicknesses are available in larger sizes. We can special order larger sizes if needed. Contact us today to explore our full range of plastic options!

Acrylic

Acrylic is a polymer created when giant carbon molecules combine chemically. Acrylic is half the weight and up to 10 times the impact resistance of glass. It is available in tinted or colored, mirrored or with many options in a textured finish. A number of coatings are also available with performance enhancing characteristics such as scratch resistance, anti-fogging, glare reduction and solar reflective. Because it’s a thermoplastic and softens under extremely high temperatures, acrylic can be formed to virtually any shape. Incredibly durable and has superior weathering properties compared to other plastics

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate offers all of the clarity and beauty of acrylic with an impact resistance that is unparalleled in glazing materials. Polycarbonate is used in applications that require optical clarity and the assurance of safety such as machine guards, security windows, skylights, atv windshields, agricultural and sawmill equipment and many other industrial uses. Polycarbonate is relatively light weight and is fairly rigid. Polycarbonate is easily sawed, machined, heat formed, cold formed, and cemented. Polycarbonates are high molecular weight, amorphous engineering thermoplastics that have exceptionally high-impact strength over a wide temperature range.

Twin Walled Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate cellular (Twin-wall) Panels have Excellent insulation, the ribbed configuration of the multi-walled sheets traps air within the sheet, providing outstanding thermal insulation. It is ideal for applications where specific light transmission is required. Available in wide range of colors and thicknesses, multi-wall polycarbonate is a great alternative to glass panels and other like materials for a variety of interior wall, exterior wall, and roofing applications. Impact and weather-resistant, multi-wall polycarbonate works well as a roof covering for decks, pergolas, and gazebos. These virtually unbreakable plastic panels feature advanced UV protection offer a high degree of light transmittance for many years.

Lightweight yet durable, multi-wall polycarbonate is easy to handle and cut on the job site, making installation of these plastic wall and roofing panels quick and easy. Common wood working tools can be used for cutting and drilling. No special tools needed!
